Renu Goel’s Hari Mirch Ka Achaar(Green-Chilli Pickle)

Origination of Green-Chilli Pickle can be traced back to Madhya Pradesh Province of India, in beginning of 20 th century. Gradually with its peculiarly sour taste, the green chilli pickle got spread throughout India, due to highly relished blending of its hot & sour taste along with Indian Chapatti or Roti.

Ingredients used for “Green Chilli Pickle” are; Green Cilli-150 Grams, Rai Dana(Mustered Seeds)-1Tea Spoon, Mustered or Refined Oil -1 Tea Spoon,Salt-1Tea Spoon, Haldi(Turmeric Powder )-1 Tea Spoon, Dhania(Coriander) Powder-1 Tea Spoon,Venegar-1 Tea Spoon, Lemon Slices-2 Lemons.

Procedure for the preparation of Green Chilli Pickle is; Cut the green chillis in longitudinal Pieces as shown in the recipe video, get the cut-pieces of chilli dried-up for about 6-7 Hrs, then put the cut pieces in an utensil with wide-open top , pour all the remaining ingredients at once with cut-pieces of chillis and mix-them well for few minutes stirring the entire mixture using a spoon with long stem. Put the entire mixed substance preferably in a glass jar and close the top of jar by its lid or a well covering small plate etc.

Leave the entire mix for ageing of about 24-Hrs.

Just on completion of 24 Hrs of ageing, the pickle is ready to be served with Chapatis , Paranthas or even with Rice & Pulse, Pakodas etc.
